Income generation is the key to our success. Raising funds in the community can be rewarding and enjoyable.

Fundraising should always be fun but doing it as part of a group is even more inspiring! Allergy UK is looking for groups of friends or likeminded, passionate and enthusiastic people that are keen to help us lead the fight against allergy in their communities. By forming or joining a fundraising group you will become part of the Allergy UK family. Your role will be to help us support all those whose lives are impacted by allergy and food intolerance.

Fundraising and volunteering means you giving up your free time. So what can you expect from us?

We will give you a full induction and training on all aspects of your role and all appropriate materials to support your role. A dedicated member of staff will be available to give you support, advice and guidance.

Equally you should know what we would expect from you:

  • Commitment to your role
  • To raise vital funds through an annual diary of events
  • To be an ambassador for Allergy UK in your community

The North West Fundraising Group

Musical Mayhem13 year old Molly sadly died in August 2010 as a result of a severe allergic reaction to nuts. Friends, family and people from her local community joined forces to form the North West Fundraising Group who raise vital funds and awareness through an annual events calendar.

This year’s fundraising kicked off with an innovative and fun 'Catwalk and Cupcakes' event on Sunday 28 April, during Allergy Awareness Week. Abigail Cohen organised an afternoon of fashion, stalls and sweet treats! They raised over £650.00 with more still to come in! It was a wonderful event enjoyed by all.

Abigail and the group already have plans for more events later on in the year!

In 2012 they organised Musical Mayhem on 10th-11th March which saw them raise an amazing £6,500. Cast members ranged from six years old to 48 years old and they all did an amazing job. The concert featured varied music and was initiated by Maurice Abrahams.

On Sunday 23rd September over 220 people joined the young organisers, Chelsey and Abi, to walk 5k in Molly’s memory around Heaton Park, Manchester Afterwards the group enjoyed a well-deserved picnic lunch together. The event was another huge success, raising around £4,000! But they did not stop there!

On Saturday 29th September they were back on the fundraising trail, lending a helping hand to shoppers at their local supermarket in Prestwich, Greater Manchester.

Fundraisers of all ages offered to pack shoppers bags in the busy store to fundraise for Allergy UK. Molly’s mum, Meryl Matthews said: “We have had a great, fun day and we have raised £558, which we are so pleased with.”
